CarGurus Reports Faster Inventory Turnover and Lower Prices in August 2026

Highlighting accelerated dealership inventory velocity, CarGurus Canada reports lower average listing prices across seven of Canada’s top ten best-selling used models in August 2026.

Automotive marketplace CarGurus Canada has released its pre-owned vehicle intelligence report for August 2026. The data tracks national sales volume, year-over-year listing price adjustments, and days-on-lot efficiency across Canadian dealership lots.

For pre-owned sales managers, dealership principals, and fleet remarketing executives, the indicators reveal strong retail demand for light trucks alongside shortening inventory holding periods.

“The F-150 and RAM 1500 continue to lead the rankings, while SUVs and crossovers make up half of August’s top 10,” stated David Undercoffler, Head of Consumer Insights at CarGurus. “The good news for shoppers is that average listing prices are lower than a year ago for seven of the 10 models on our list.”

Top-Selling Used Vehicles (August 2026)

• Ford F-150: $44,531 (+2.3% YoY vs Aug 2025)

• RAM 1500: $38,801 (-6.4%)

• Toyota RAV4: $30,459 (+2.1%)

• Honda CR-V: $25,614 (-8.8%)

Fastest-Moving Used Inventory

Inventory velocity improved across all top-turn models compared to August 2025. The Subaru Crosstrek led the market as the fastest-selling vehicle at 35 days on lot, while the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid experienced the most substantial year-over-year gain, improving turn rate duration by roughly seven days (37 days).

“We’re also seeing popular used vehicles sell faster than they did a year ago,” added Undercoffler. “Every model on the list of the 10 fastest-moving vehicles spent less time on dealer lots than it did last August.”

The fastest-turning pre-owned vehicles for August 2026 were the Subaru Crosstrek (35 days), Ford F-150 (36 days), Honda HR-V (36.6 days), Toyota RAV4 Hybrid (37 days), Subaru Forester (37.6 days), Honda Civic (37.7 days), Toyota Corolla (39.1 days), Toyota RAV4 (39.7 days), Mazda CX-5 (39.8 days), and Subaru Outback (39.8 days).
