While Jaguar Land Rover plans to introduce full hybrid options later in the vehicle’s lifecycle to maintain flexible powertrain options across different global markets, the Range Rover GT will initially launch exclusively as a pure battery-electric vehicle.

Moving forward with its long-term electrification strategy, Range Rover has confirmed the addition of a fifth model family member: the Range Rover GT. Set to be manufactured at the company’s Halewood production facility in the United Kingdom, the new grand tourer represents a major technical shift for the brand as the first battery-electric vehicle built upon its dedicated Electric Modular Architecture (EMA).

While Jaguar Land Rover plans to introduce full hybrid options later in the vehicle’s lifecycle to maintain flexible powertrain options across different global markets, the Range Rover GT will initially launch exclusively as a pure battery-electric vehicle. Engineering teams are currently conducting final open-road validation testing using prototypes wrapped in a specialized gold camouflage pattern designed to reflect the topographical contours surrounding the Gaydon engineering headquarters.

Inside the cabin, interior designers have executed a reductive design approach focused on minimizing visual clutter and ambient noise. The dashboard architecture features a consolidated central display paired with a driver readout, replacing the traditional multi-screen instrument cluster. A concealed horizontal air vent spans the width of the interior, while a specialized woven textile wraps the entire dashboard structure, completely integrating and hiding the audio system speakers beneath the material.

According to Martin Limpert, Managing Director of Range Rover, the vehicle was engineered to deliver a lower, more car-like driving posture without compromising the brand’s signature off-road capabilities or long-distance refinement. For North American luxury automotive retailers, the Range Rover GT positions the brand directly within the growing high-performance electric utility segment.
