Established in Europe since 2023, the Mobilize Beyond Automotive network is adopting a new identity.

The name Plug Inn will now be applied to all of Renault Group’s “charging activities and associated services,” which are now unified under a single application. It is a name that leaves no ambiguity regarding its purpose. “Plug” refers to charging, while “Inn” “evokes a world of hospitality, comfort, and service inspired by the hotel industry,” according to the press release.

“With Plug Inn, the Group is unifying, clarifying, and strengthening its charging ecosystem to support the large-scale deployment of electric mobility in Europe.” French fast-charging stations (Plug Inn Fast Charge), featuring ultra-high-power terminals capable of reaching 320 kW, are the first to make the transition starting this April. The remaining services—Plug Inn Powerbox (V2G bidirectional charging solutions) and Plug Inn Charge Pass (a single payment solution accessible across the continent)—will follow over the next eight months.

The initiative “embodies a strong industrial and technological ambition,” according to Jérôme Faton, Vice President of Customer Experience and Energy at Renault Group. It marks a “foundational milestone” for the Group, which aims to establish itself as a benchmark standard by offering a simplified and harmonized charging experience based on service quality, transparency, and trust.

The network, which has distinguished itself in the Chargemap rankings since its inception, is expected to reach 93 stations by the end of 2026. Although they are primarily located at Renault dealerships near major highways, the company emphasized that they are open to electric vehicles of all brands. On the menu: “an uptime rate exceeding 99%, 24/7 maintenance, Plug & Charge compatibility, and transparent, attractive pricing for Renault Group customers.” Certain sites will also offer secure premium spaces, accessible 24/7, featuring Wi-Fi, restrooms, coffee, and areas for both work and relaxation.
