Dilawri Group launches environmental impact compensation program.

50 employees of the Dilawri Group, Canada’s largest automotive group, took part in a first day of tree planting on October 18th as part of the initial phase of the Dilawri Forest. THE Group, which represents 82 car dealerships across the country, has just launched a CO emissions offset program₂ emitted by vehicles sold.

It was at the Ferme Duroseau, in St-Lin in the Laurentians, that around fifty employees of the concessionaires of the Group, located in the greater Montreal area. They put their shoulder to the wheel and themselves planted the first trees of the Dilawri Forest, which will eventually have more than 800 trees.

A bold program to offset CO emissions₂

Aware of the environmental impact of the vehicles it sells and wishing to become more involved in protecting the environment. Dilawri is now committed to the fight against climate change, through a major CO emissions compensation program₂. Each month, a different franchise concession Dilawri of the greater Montreal region will offer compensation for GHG emissions for the first year of use of each new vehicle sold.

As part of this program, Dilawri joins its efforts with Carbone Québec, which will calculate the ecological impact of new vehicles sold over 1 year. Dilawri will subsequently provide them with the financial resources necessary to neutralize this impact by planting trees and restoring natural environments.

Gasoline and hybrid vehicles will see their emissions offset through carbon credits (tree planting) while electric vehicles will see the environmental impact of batteries offset through biodiversity credits (restoration of natural environments). Customers concerned about the environmental impact of their purchases will thus be able to choose a vehicle from the 12 brands offered in Quebec by dealerships of the Dilawri Group while respecting their ecological values.
