New coupe offers a complete ownership experience.
Genesis Motors Canada has announced pricing for the 2025 GV80 Coupe, which is due to arrive in dealerships in July 2024. The brand is offering a complete ownership experience that includes complimentary scheduled maintenance, valet service, and an industry-first winter tire package.
The new Coupe is priced at $104,000 and comes with a set of summer/all-season tires, as well as a set of Michelin X-Ice winter tires mounted on alloy rims. The winter tire package includes five years of complimentary tire storage, which means that GV80 Coupe owners won’t have to worry about finding a place to store their off-season tires at home.
In addition, GV80 Coupe owners will never have to step foot into a Genesis dealership for their tire swap (at least not for the first five years of ownership), or for any other maintenance needs. That’s because Genesis is throwing in five years of at-home valet service, which means that Genesis staff will pick up the GV80 Coupe from the owner’s home or office, swap out the tires, and then return the vehicle to the owner.
During a press conference announcing pricing for the new GV80 Coupe, Genesis staff explained that, “the addition of this care plan to the GV80 Coupe package is above and beyond the existing Genesis Canada benefits, including years of maintenance paired with at-home valet service, in addition to a five-year comprehensive warranty that is inclusive of roadside assistance, map updates and connected services.”
Attracting new demographic
The GV80 Coupe will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 with a 48V electric supercharger, which makes 409hp and 405 lb-ft of torque at 1,300 rpm. The V6 will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and will come with all-wheel drive.
“This powertrain is exclusive to the GV80 Coupe,” Aquiles Moura, Product Marketing Manager for Genesis Canada explained at the press conference, adding that Genesis hopes to attract a new clientele to the brand with the GV80 Coupe. “They are completely different from the customers that we already have for the GV80 SUV,” he said. “They are younger, more dynamic and very active.”
The Coupe’s engine is more powerful, and offers more torque than the engine that powers the GV80 SUV, which Moura said will give this new younger clientele a more dynamic and exciting driving experience.
Another interesting feature is the Sport Active Sound Design system. “The Bang and Olufsen sound system captures the sound of the engine and brings it inside the car when you are driving,” Moura explained. “We have a very quiet cabin, that isolates the noise from outside the vehicle, so this will add to the excitement of the driving experience.”
One fully-loaded model
Only one fully-loaded trim will be available, complete with exclusive 22-inch wheels, a unique quilted seat pattern, carbon fibre interior accents, a D-shaped steering wheel, alloy pedals, and a 27-inch OLED instrument cluster/navigation integrated display.
The Coupe will be available with a Digital Key, which means that the vehicle can be locked, unlocked and operated using a smartphone or smartwatch instead of a traditional key.
