Under the terms of an agreement signed in recent weeks, car racer Simon Dion-Viens will now wear the colours of the Duclos Chrysler dealership group to compete in the 4 Quebec events of the NASCAR Canada Series.
The owners of Groupe Duclos, Marcel and Louis-Philippe Duclos, are naturally delighted with this news.
“Through our dealerships, we have purchased a road-going car that will enable Simon to make a comeback in the Canadian NASCAR series,” explains Mr Duclos.
“I met Simon a few years ago when we were filming Passion Autos, a programme in which our dealership group is also a partner. As a fan of motor racing and performance, we’re very proud to be able to enter the Canadian motor racing scene,” continues the businessman. It will be a great source of pride for us to take part in Simon’s exploits in our own way, through our 4 Chrysler dealerships located in Laval, Longueil, Mercier and Valleyfield respectively,” explains the owner.
For his part, Simon Dion-Viens is delighted to be continuing his career in the professional series Nascar Canada.
“I’m really pleased and motivated by my new association with Duclos Chrysler. I love surrounding myself with dynamic people and I share the same vision as the team in place in their various dealerships. With values focused on customer service, I’m very proud to have the opportunity to represent them on the biggest Canadian circuits. There’s no doubt that this partnership with Duclos Chrysler will open up new prospects for me in the coming racing seasons.” concludes the pilot.
With the addition of this new road car, Dion-Viens will be able to contest the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières in the summer of 2024, as well as the Grand Prix de Mirabel and the two Quebec oval track events such as the Autodrome Chaudière and the brand new Autodrome Montmagny at the end of the season.
It should also be noted that several other partners are joining the SDV Autosport team’s 2024 race programme. These will be announced over the winter.
