The BMW Store was honoured to host the Canadian debut of the highly anticipated 2022 all-electric BMW iX and the BMW i4 sedan on September 7.

Both the BMW i4 and iX will begin retailing in Canada in March 2022.

Although the new luxury models don’t start production until the end of the year, The BMW Store had two pre-production cars shipped to Vancouver from Germany for the special event which was attended by VIP customers and press.

The BMW Store has already pre-sold a high number of iX and i4 models with all new orders being accepted on priority waitlists.

“Vancouver is proving to be a hot spot for electric BMW sales, which makes sense given our reputation as an environmentally conscious city and the luxury car capital of Canada combined,” said Aly Jiwani, Vice President, Regional Operations, OpenRoad Auto Group.

“Our customers are eagerly waiting to receive the first units which are expected to land sometime next spring.”

Electric vehicles

Just over 10 years ago BMW formally launched “BMW i”, a new sub-brand set to produce a range of electrified vehicles both hybrid powertrain and fully electric.

The BMW iX and i4 are BMW’s next chapter of electrification designed to provide more sustainable vehicle options and to further evolve BMW as an environmentally responsible company.

From the materials used to produce the car such as the floor mats made out of recycled fishing nets, all the way up to the very source from where BMW gets its materials, the BMW i4 and iX are truly the future of BMW.

The BMW i4 combines the agility and dynamic authority underpinning the brand’s fabled sense of driving pleasure, plus sedan comfort and modern functionality in a fresh new format with zero tailpipe emissions.

The i4 blends a sporty yet sustainable profile with the graceful design, spaciousness and practicality of a four-door Gran coupe with and an electric range for long journeys.

A new mobility

It combines trailblazing design and modern luxury with the latest innovations in automated driving, operation, connectivity and digital services.

The BMW Group’s new technology flagship focuses on both locally emission-free driving pleasure – combined with the brand’s hallmark sporting ability, efficiency and convincing operating range – and an unwavering, integrated approach to sustainability applied from the ground up.

The BMW iX redefines the successful Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) concept. It is the first model based on a new, modular, scalable toolkit on which the future of the BMW Group will be built.
