Volkswagen Canada launches for a third year the Volksgiving event.

This year, the campaign is dedicated exclusively to front-line workers. Conducting a Canada-wide search, Volkswagen called on Canadian Volkswagen owners who went above and beyond to help others during COVID-19, and then surprised them with thank you messages from their loved ones and a personalized gift to recognize their efforts during this unprecedented period.

Following a coast-to-coast call for nominations, Volkswagen finally received more than 1,100 nominations from the Volkswagen ownership community, all naming an essential worker who made significant personal sacrifices to care for his fellow citizens. There was no shortage of deserving individuals: from air ambulance attendants to nurses, to workers for the deaf and blind, to staff working in seniors’ residences and orderlies.

Eighteen applicants were selected and informed that they were being interviewed for a documentary on essential workers. Among the unique gifts received by the participants were a weekend of sports driving lessons on a closed track, a wellness retreat in the Laurentians and a total upgrade package for cycling enthusiasts.
