J.D.Power says that the 2020 Cadillac CT5 is the highest luxury car in quality—according to consumers. They found this out when they did their Initial Quality Study.
To create the new-for-2020 CT5, Cadillac took the previous CTS platform, stretched the wheelbase to add a rear-seat room, added a redesigned body and interior, and installed a choice between a 237-hp turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder and a 360-hp twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V-6 engine.
Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, and V-Series variants are available, with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.
The PP100 score for the 2020 Cadillac CT5 is 122, and the car received an Initial Quality award in the Midsize Premium Car segment. Each vehicle studied was given a score based on the number of problems experienced, per 100 vehicles. The lower the score, the higher the initial quality.
Initial Quality Study
The J.D. Power Initial Quality Study is an annual look at owner-reported issues with 2020 model-year vehicles during the first 90 days of ownership.
“The iconic study, redesigned this year, measures components that fail and features that are difficult to use, hard to understand or don’t work the way owners want,” J.D. Power stated in a press release.
