The 20,000-square-foot production facility serves Stratford and the broader Perth County corridor, maintaining vital Direct Repair Program (DRP) workflows with national insurance underwriters including Intact, Definity, and Desjardins General Insurance Group (DGIG).
Accelerating its structural consolidation of the Canadian automotive repair landscape, AutoCanada has finalized the acquisition of a high-volume collision repair facility in Stratford, Ontario. The operation, which formerly operated under the Fix Auto Stratford franchise banner, has been completely absorbed into AutoCanada’s portfolio and rebranded as ACX Stratford.
The 20,000-square-foot production facility serves Stratford and the broader Perth County corridor, maintaining vital Direct Repair Program (DRP) workflows with national insurance underwriters including Intact, Definity, and Desjardins General Insurance Group (DGIG). Strategically positioned within a 60-minute transit radius of ten active AutoCanada franchise dealerships, the acquisition adds immediate regional repair capacity to backstop the group’s existing London operations.
“ACX Stratford is an excellent addition to our growing collision platform,” stated Samuel Cochrane, Chief Executive Officer and Interim Chief Financial Officer of AutoCanada. “The business expands our presence in Southwestern Ontario, adds an experienced team, and creates meaningful opportunities to grow through operational improvements, additional OEM certifications, and stronger integration with our dealership network.”
This transaction underscores AutoCanada’s targeted “hub-and-spoke” regional deployment. The Stratford site will act as a dedicated regional spoke, directly absorbing internal vehicle service referrals from the surrounding dealer network to optimize bay utilization and cycle times.
While the shop currently operates without formal OEM certifications, AutoCanada confirmed the facility is equipped to immediately qualify for multiple non-luxury manufacturer credentials, with secondary development phases focusing on high-margin luxury and electric vehicle (EV) structural certifications to anchor future expansion toward the Kitchener-Waterloo commercial corridor.
