The atmosphere could not have been more electric for the Fix Network Pre-Grand Prix Evening, held May 20th in an exclusive Montreal venue.

Montreal was buzzing with excitement over the Stanley Cup finals and trembling with anticipation ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix, which was scheduled to take place the following weekend. What’s more, many of the roughly 200 guests at this VIP event had attended the Fix Network National Conference in Banff two weeks earlier and were still feeling its positive effects.

This evening allowed Fix Network to invite its franchisees and partners to highlight the new partnership with the TGR Haas Formula 1 team. Several members of the Network’s management team were on-site to welcome the guests.

During his address, Steve Leal, President and CEO of Fix Network World, emphasized that his network’s presence in this prestigious competition aligned with shared core values, namely performance, precision, and people, the 3 P of excellence. “I want to thank our franchisees and partners who rise to the challenge every day to deliver excellent work in every detail.”

Several Quebec collision repairers took advantage of the presence of the Network’s founder — a group whose roots are originally from Montreal— to shake hands and catch up on the latest news. For while the evening offered excellent cuisine and beverages, the discussions among repairers were just as brilliant. The successes of recent months, complexity of day-to-day repairs and the integration of new technologies fueled discussions interspersed with chats about family life.

Two inspiring drivers

Subsequently, the stage was taken by Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman, drivers for the TGR Haas F1 team. In a Q&A format, the two young athletes shared insights on topics as diverse as their diet or the tricks they use to unwind.

But through their answers, several collision center owners felt directly connected to their own daily lives. “After the race, regardless of the results, we have to analyze the areas where we need to improve,” explained Oliver Bearman. “And it’s just before the start of the qualifying session that we are most nervous, since we hold the culmination of our entire team’s work in our hands.”

This notion of teamwork, moreover, often came up in the remarks of the young drivers. When asked what he would do if he weren’t a driver, Esteban Ocon replied, to the great delight of the participants, that he would have been a mechanic. “Yes, engineer would be good, but I would prefer mechanic, because I love being in direct contact with the car.”

The two drivers also spoke candidly about their daily lives and, above all, the importance of dedicating time to family, the best way to recharge their batteries while keeping both feet on the ground. “The team, you know, is also family,” Mr. Bearman remarked. The latter also struck a chord with the entrepreneurs in the room by launching, in conclusion: “I cannot take the wheel of a Formula 1 car without thinking about becoming world champion!”

At the highest level of motorsport, drivers do not compete alone.
