In celebration of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, CARSTAR Canada is proud to recognize the talented women across its network who are helping shape the future of the collision repair industry.
From technicians and estimators to managers and performance leaders, these women bring skill, dedication, empathy, and fresh perspectives to their roles every day. Their experiences reflect both the progress being made in the industry and the importance of continuing to encourage more women to pursue careers in automotive repair.
Below are just a few of the incredible women making an impact across the CARSTAR Canada network.
Lise Martin — CARSTAR Grand Falls
Lise Martin has spent more than 30 years in the automotive industry and two years with CARSTAR Grand Falls. Throughout her career as a warranty clerk and parts and service manager, she has valued the opportunity to learn something new every day. Early in her career, Lise faced challenges as a woman in a male-dominated field, but she built confidence and earned respect through her knowledge and dedication. She believes women bring patience, empathy, and strong multitasking skills to the workplace, all of which help create better experiences for customers.
Nathalie, Andi, Jenna, Carlie, Katie, Kianna, and Lynn — CARSTAR Kenora
At CARSTAR Kenora, Nathalie, Andi, Jenna, Carlie, Katie, Kianna, and Lynn help create a supportive and collaborative workplace. Their favorite part of working at the facility is the strong team environment, where coworkers support one another and work together to help customers through what can often be a stressful time following an accident. With leadership that actively supports women in the industry, the team believes diversity strengthens the workplace by bringing new perspectives, strong communication skills, and a balanced approach to serving customers.
Lizanne Van Basten-Cuff — CARSTAR Victoria (Pre-Tech Collision)
Lizanne Van Basten-Cuff has been part of CARSTAR Victoria (Pre-Tech Collision) for 12 years and credits the people she works with as the best part of her job. Growing up around the family-owned business, she started at 19 helping with parts and customer service before working her way up to become an estimator. Lizanne approaches her work with confidence and preparation, which she believes is key to overcoming challenges women can face in the automotive industry. She values building strong relationships with customers and believes women often help make customers feel more comfortable discussing vehicle safety and repair decisions.
Tessa Morrison — CARSTAR Calgary Blackfoot (Shaw)
Tessa Morrison has spent seven years building strong relationships with fleet partners and customers at CARSTAR Calgary Blackfoot (Shaw). Beginning as an internal estimator, she worked her way into an appraiser role and was recently promoted to Assistant Manager. Known for her friendly demeanor and empathetic approach to problem-solving, Tessa communicates effectively with technicians, parts teams, and insurance partners to ensure repairs move smoothly. Her dedication to learning and leadership has helped her grow into an important part of the facility’s management team.
Sadie Clarke — CARSTAR Calgary Deerfoot South
Sadie Clarke is an autobody technician apprentice who joined CARSTAR Calgary Deerfoot South nine months ago after first discovering her interest in autobody during high school. Originally interested in welding, she realized she enjoyed the variety of skills involved in repairing vehicles. Sadie values the supportive and encouraging environment at her facility, which has helped her continue developing her skills. She believes the industry is becoming more welcoming to women and hopes to inspire others to consider careers in the trades.
Crystal Northcott — CARSTAR London Centre (Don Mor)
Crystal Northcott brings more than 20 years of experience in the automotive industry to CARSTAR London Centre (Don Mor), where she has worked for the past year. After studying executive administration, she began her career supplying body shop materials before moving into dealership roles and eventually joining the collision repair sector. Crystal values the supportive culture of her workplace and the teamwork that allows everyone to succeed. She believes women contribute valuable perspectives, strong organization, and attention to detail that help strengthen the industry.
Dannielle Lefebvre — CARSTAR Ottawa South Centre (Myers)
Dannielle has been part of CARSTAR Ottawa South Centre (Myers) for nine years and enjoys working with a great group of people who keep the job interesting and entertaining. Inspired by her mother’s career in the industry, she first entered automotive repair through a high school co-op program and quickly discovered a passion for the trade. Over the years she has learned from many colleagues and now enjoys mentoring younger women entering the field, encouraging them as they build their skills and confidence.
Jasmine White — CARSTAR Barrhaven (Myers)
Jasmine White has worked with CARSTAR Barrhaven (Myers) for 11 years and is proud to be part of an all-female management team. With strong family roots in the automotive industry, including relatives who are mechanics, painters, and performance car builders, she always knew this field was where she belonged. Jasmine focuses on attention to detail, communication, and teamwork, and believes the growing presence of women in the industry helps create stronger teams and inspire the next generation of skilled trades professionals.
Bethany Keller — CARSTAR Barrhaven (Myers)
Bethany Keller joined CARSTAR Barrhaven (Myers) less than a year ago and quickly felt welcomed by the team and impressed by the facility’s clean, well maintained paint booths and prep bays. She began her career as a mechanic after studying in the Auto Service Technician program at Algonquin College and working as an apprentice for four years. After transitioning into autobody work, she discovered her passion in the paint department. Bethany takes pride in maintaining high standards and believes her attention to detail helps her work speak for itself.
Irène Deschamps — CARSTAR Charlesbourg
Irène Deschamps is a key leader at CARSTAR Charlesbourg, acting as the “behind-the-scenes conductor” and right hand to the facility’s management. She oversees client files, manages vendor payments, and ensures day-to-day operations run smoothly, handling everything from technical issues to complex case files with a calm, solution focused approach. Beyond the shop, Irène also works as a nursing instructor and manages family life with two teenagers, demonstrating the same dedication, organization, and multitasking skills that make her an invaluable part of the CARSTAR Charlesbourg team.
Amber Kerr — CARSTAR Canada Corporate
With more than two years supporting the CARSTAR Canada network, Amber Kerr plays a key role in helping locations across the Prairie provinces improve performance as an area manager of operations. Her career began as a customer service representative in Manitoba and evolved through multiple roles across Western Canada, including time spent working directly within CARSTAR locations. Amber is known for her methodical approach, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to look at challenges from different perspectives. Her commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement has made her a valued member of the CARSTAR Canada team.
