CARSTAR Johnny K Group, a six-store Edmonton area group owned by Johnny Kloeckes, recently attended the Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History on Sunday, May 28 in Whitemud, Park, Edmonton.
Through their dedicated fundraising efforts, the CARSTAR Johnny K Group was able to raise $7,000 that will directly benefit cystic fibrosis families by providing research, advocacy and care.
The CARSTAR Johnny K Group went the extra mile and provided refreshing cooling stations throughout the walk, ensuring all participants stayed cool and hydrated.
“Cystic fibrosis has become a cause very near and dear to our team and we were incredibly excited to find ways to raise money this year,” said Johnny Kloeckes, Owner, JK Group. “Uniting the community for a selfless cause was such a rewarding experience for all attendees and I am proud to play a small part in such a significant cause. My team and I are already excited about additional ways to get involved this summer.”
Combined efforts
All in all, the combined efforts of CARSTAR and the Edmonton community allowed the walk to not only meet but exceed its goal of $40,000 to raise a final sum of over $48,000.
The Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History served as a precursor to CARSTAR’s Shine Season, a three-month-long summer initiative, where CARSTAR facilities take time to raise money and awareness for cystic fibrosis.
CARSTAR Johnny K Group has a longstanding history of supporting cystic fibrosis through a variety of programming such as their presence at the walk, community outreach, and a “Soaps it Up” car wash that raised $8,000 in August 2022.
The CARSTAR Johnny K Group team is determined to continue to provide support to Cystic Fibrosis Canada and amplify the impact that they make for the organization.
