During our time at the 2021 SEMA Show, we had the opportunity to visit the Snap On booth.

A new product introduced this year is the Tru-Point ADAS Calibration System from JohnBean.

Chris Sobieski, National Special Projects Manager for Snap-On, gave us a demonstration of Tru-Point, which is designed to ensure individual vehicle calibrations are performed accurately and efficiently.

Tru-Point uses a touch screen menu-driven software system to select and identify the specific vehicle requiring ADAS calibrations.

The system is an integrated solution that features high-quality camera technology, target recognition and advanced software to make the alignment and calibration process, fast, accurate and easy to perform.

Precision beam adjustment allows the technician to easily raise and lower the system, while at the same time providing fast target placement, easily fine-tune adjustments and millimetric precision accuracy.

Because it uses simple, real-time and visual target placement indicators and can compensate for different variables, including uneven floor surfaces and vehicles on alignment racks, Tru-Point can save technicians a significant amount of time.

Tru-Point also incorporates a complete audit service, ensuring alignment and calibration specs are automatically documented for each vehicle.

Additionally, folding arms and ease of mobility mean that it doesn’t take up a lot of space when not in use and can be quickly moved from one location to another.
