PPG has launched its new Automotive Refinish training website in Canada. Designed to serve as a comprehensive source of information about the company’s robust training program and supporting material, the site went live on March 26. It replaces the Training section of the current PPG automotive refinish website.

The new website was designed with the customer in mind, intended for PPG distributors, collision centers, paint technicians and vocational students.

The site focuses on the PPG training course curriculum, online how-to videos, certifications and instructor bios and allows online registration for classes. The site also offers access to student transcripts and pertinent PPG and industry news. With easy-to-use primary navigation, site visitors can quickly find the information they require.

PPG has the largest and most complete training program in the refinish industry.

“More than 12,000 people attend PPG training classes every year, and there’s a lot for our customers to keep up with. When we see an opportunity to make things more convenient for them, we act on it. This new website, devoted specifically to training, is easy to navigate and provides the most current information on our training programs,” Added Angrove.

According to Angrove, each website topic provides a wide range of critical material. The Courses section, for example, details the training classes offered for automotive and commercial refinishing systems and collision repair management.

Site visitors can search for courses by paint brand, type of class or location — usually one of PPG’s 16 Business Development Centers across North America. In addition, PPG training instructors are highly regarded refinish experts. Their qualifications are displayed on the site. Visitors can find the expert class instructor with the experience that matches their needs.

PPG Certification Training

This is a key part of PPG’s commitment to ensure that automotive and commercial refinish technicians stay up to date with the latest products, processes and techniques for maximizing a paint shop’s productivity and quality. The website lists all automotive and commercial refinish technical certification classes.

Distributor Technical Representative Certification classes, available exclusively to PPG Platinum Distributors, are also listed, as are industry certification opportunities for students.

Angrove notes that the site also provides helpful SOP videos, technical articles and tips, training manuals and more.

Training involves more than classes, so we’ve made sure there’s plenty of technical information right on the website.

“We also want to help our students monitor their training records. If they’ve attended a PPG training course, they can access their training transcripts or update their information on the site. They can see when they last attended certification training, determine when they’re due to take recertification training and keep their certification status current. And our News section gives everyone the chance to stay up to date with the latest industry news, learn about products and procedures, new course offerings and special events. It’s all here,” finished Angrove.

The PPG training website is up and accessible. For more information about the refinish training PPG offers, visit ca.ppgrefinish.com/Training.
