Distribution Stox and RSSW held an official grand opening of their new Vaughan, Ontario warehouse and distribution centre on October 1.

Vaughan facility adds significant capability and is part of a broader investment strategy

Distribution Stox and RSSW held an official grand opening of their new Vaughan, Ontario warehouse and distribution centre on October 1.

According to Mark Pereira, Vice President, Ontario, and National Accounts for Distribution Stox, the new facility represents a major step in the company’s long-term investment strategy, both in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and across Canada.

The brand new, 280,000 square foot facility, began operations on February 1st and can hold an inventory of over 200,000 tires and wheels on site. Optimized logistics allow for same day delivery times and the new facility further enhances Distribution Stop’s warehouse capabilities in the region, building upon the success established with its previous facility in Brampton.

The new location, at 8555 Huntingdon Road, represents the hub for the company’s tire and wheel distribution in Metro Toronto and the ability to shrink delivery times for tires and wheels will have a significant impact on operational efficiency as well as Distribution Stox/RSSW customers.

Pereira noted that the new Vaughan warehouse represents a major upgrade in Distribution Stox’s capabilities and thanked everyone from within the organization including Management, IT, Marketing, Sales and Operations teams as well as tire manufacturers, customers and other key stakeholders for making the vision of the Vaughan distribution centre a reality.

The Grand Opening invited industry professionals from across Ontario and beyond for a soiree reception, with multiple food stations, high performance vehicles on display, plus a Driving Simulator set up for the event by SimHub Race Lounge that allowed guests to test their skills in a virtual race track setting.

Also in attendance was the Starlight Foundation, a non-profit children’s charity that creates priceless experiences and smiles for children suffering from serious illnesses. Since the 1990s, the Starlight Foundation has been delivering a range of both in-hospital and external activities for sick children, creating those precious lifetime moments that bring a smile to a child’s face.

Following the Grand Opening, the warehouse immediately filled the prepared space with additional shelving and tire/wheel capacity, maximizing on the opportunity to get the right tires and wheels to customers the most efficient way possible.
