Gates Completes Acquisition of Timken Belts Business

Expanding North American manufacturing capacity, Gates strengthens its power transmission portfolio across industrial and powersports sectors.

Gates Industrial Corporation Ltd. has finalized its acquisition of The Timken Company’s belts business, taking ownership of select manufacturing assets and client relationships across industrial OEM, industrial aftermarket, and mobility powersports channels. As part of the asset takeover, Gates assumes direct operational control of the primary belts production plant in San Jose Iturbide, Mexico, to expand its regional power transmission footprint.

For automotive aftermarket distributors, industrial supply wholesalers, and powersports service networks, the consolidation expands product availability while leveraging Gates’ established North American distribution infrastructure.

According to Gates Americas President Tom Pitstick, the acquisition accelerates the company’s regional growth strategy while integrating manufacturing operations to optimize supply chain capacity for power transmission customers.
