POLYN Technology has reached a development milestone by delivering the first engineering units of its VibroSense TMS integrated circuit, designed for real-time tire-road friction detection.

Embedding neuromorphic AI processing inside the tire, POLYN Technology enables vehicle control units to measure tire-road friction directly.

POLYN Technology has reached a development milestone by delivering the first engineering units of its VibroSense TMS integrated circuit, designed for real-time tire-road friction detection. Housed within standard TPMS wheel nodes, the application-specific neuromorphic chip (NASP) processes raw wheel accelerometer data to calculate the peak friction coefficient (PFC). This data is transmitted wirelessly to the vehicle’s ECU to enhance ABS, electronic stability control, and ADAS performance, shortening wet-surface stopping distances by up to 12 percent in initial testing.

For tire manufacturers, tier-one chassis suppliers, and autonomous vehicle platform developers, direct friction sensing provides an always-on data feed that optimizes braking efficiency before wheel slip occurs.

According to POLYN Technology executive leadership, commercial chip tapeout is scheduled for mid-2027, followed by standard automotive qualification procedures.
