Reaffirming its environmental management protocols across racing and production ecosystems, Hankook Tire secures renewal of its FIA Three-Star Environmental Accreditation through July 2028.
Hankook Tire & Technology has officially renewed its FIA Three-Star Environmental Accreditation, maintaining the highest rating within the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Environmental Accreditation Programme. First awarded in 2024 while serving as the official tire partner for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the accreditation was re-approved following audits by FIA Sustainability.
For tire dealers, commercial fleet sustainability directors, and mobility executives, the rating verifies Hankook’s carbon footprint tracking systems and comprehensive life cycle assessments (LCA) across raw material sourcing, manufacturing, and transport logistics.
“Earning our highest environmental standard once is an achievement; renewing it shows a commitment that runs deep,” stated Willem Groenewald, FIA Secretary General for Automobile Mobility, Sustainability and Tourism.
In tandem with its motorsport environmental programs, Hankook continues expanding ISCC PLUS certifications across its production facilities in South Korea, Hungary, and China, supported by on-site solar energy installations and long-term renewable power purchase agreements (PPAs).
