Genuine Parts Company (GPC) has announced the future leadership teams for its upcoming split into two independent, public companies.
Structuring its pending separation into two public companies, Genuine Parts Company appoints Court Carruthers as CEO-elect of its standalone automotive business, GPC.
Genuine Parts Company (GPC) has announced the future executive and board leadership teams for its automotive and industrial divisions as it advances its planned separation into two independent, publicly traded entities. Upon completion in Q1 2027, the automotive business will operate as Genuine Parts Company (“GPC”), while the industrial unit will operate as Motion.
For auto parts store owners, distribution center operators, and aftermarket financial analysts, the corporate split aligns dedicated executive teams around distinct automotive and industrial growth strategies. Alain Masse will serve as President of North America Automotive.
“The Board undertook a thoughtful process to identify the right leaders for GPC and Motion’s next chapters,” said Russ Hardin, Lead Director of Genuine Parts Company. “We believe their leadership positions both companies to pursue their distinct strategies and create long-term shareholder value.”
Court Carruthers, a current board member, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer-elect of GPC effective immediately, and will assume full CEO duties upon completion of the split. Jean-Jacques Lafont, co-founder of GPC’s European operations, will serve as Non-Executive Chairman of GPC. Current GPC Chairman and CEO Will Stengel will transition to lead Motion as Chairman and CEO.
Additionally, Bert Nappier has been named Executive Vice President, Chief Financial and Operating Officer of GPC, effective immediately.
