Nissan Introduces 2027 LEAF S Sub-$35,000

Expanding entry-level EV access for retail and fleet buyers, Nissan Canada introduces the 2027 LEAF S starting at a CA$34,998 Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price.

Nissan Canada has expanded its third-generation electric vehicle portfolio with the introduction of the 2027 LEAF S grade, carrying a starting MSRP of CA$34,998 (CA$37,966 selling price). Equipped with a 53-kWh battery delivering up to 341 kilometers of estimated range, the S grade sits below the 75-kWh S+, SV+, and PLATINUM+ trims, which offer up to 488 kilometers of range.

For dealer principals, sales managers, and commercial fleet purchasers, the addition creates a lower acquisition price floor to compete in the expanding mass-market electric vehicle segment.

“With the addition of the LEAF S, we’re making electric mobility even more accessible for Canadians,” said Steve Rhind, President of Nissan Canada Inc. “The new grade brings the lowest-priced entry point into EV ownership for Canadians while maintaining many of the technologies found elsewhere in the lineup.”

All 2027 LEAF models incorporate a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port with Plug & Charge capability alongside a driver-side J1772 port for Level 1 and Level 2 charging. S+ and higher trims upgrade to an 11-kW onboard charger, reducing Level 2 charge times by an estimated 35 percent.

Engineered for Canadian winter performance following validation testing in northern Quebec, the vehicle includes a standard heat pump, battery heater, and motor heat-capture system to preserve battery temperatures and charging speeds during sub-zero operation.

The 2027 Nissan LEAF lineup is scheduled to arrive at Canadian dealerships in fall 2026.
