CARSTAR Hosts Interactive Hands-On Career Day

CARSTAR Canada hosted “CARSTAR Day” at Algonquin College in Ottawa, connecting with 52 Level 1, 2, and 3 collision repair students as part of its ongoing CARSTAR Academy talent development initiative.

The day-long event addressed the growing demand for skilled technicians across Canada’s collision sector, introducing students to career pathways, apprenticeship structures, and modern shop tools. Afternoon technical workshops included hands-on instruction using manual tram gauges led by Kevin Buckwald, Area Manager of Operations at CARSTAR, alongside demonstrations of the Spanesi 3D electronic measuring system hosted in partnership with Collision 360.

For Canadian body shop owners, MSOs, and collision industry stakeholders facing technician shortages, the initiative highlights how national network mentorship programs are working directly with community colleges to streamline student transition into trade apprenticeships.
