Toyota Canada has introduced the 2027 Crown, updating its elevated sedan with refined exterior styling, upgraded hybrid hardware, and subtle design enhancements across its Canadian lineup. Available exclusively in standard all-wheel drive configurations, the vehicle continues to occupy a unique space bridging traditional premium sedans and crossover utility vehicles.

A key mechanical update for the 2027 model year centers on the Limited grade, which transitions to the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5). Pairing a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with front and rear electric motors, the updated powertrain targets a manufacturer-estimated 5.9 L/100 km combined fuel economy rating. Steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters have also been added to the Limited trim to provide more direct driver engagement over the electronic continuous variable transmission.

Performance-oriented buyers retain access to the Platinum grade, which features the flagship Hybrid MAX powertrain. Delivering a combined 340 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, the system pairs a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine with a direct-shift six-speed automatic transmission and a rear eAxle. The Platinum model also features an Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) with selectable drive modes, including a Rear Comfort mode designed to smooth out road imperfections for rear occupants.

Exterior visual adjustments for 2027 include a restyled rear bumper, satin-finish HEV and AWD badges, and the introduction of a new exterior paint shade called Inked. The Platinum grade gains standard red-painted brake calipers and black window beltline trim to reinforce its performance positioning.

Inside, the cabin retains standard leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seating, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch Toyota Multimedia touchscreen featuring over-the-air update capability, wireless smartphone integration, and an 11-speaker JBL premium audio setup. Safety technology remains anchored by the standard installation of Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 across both trims.
