The host province continues to anchor the OEM's green transition, accounting for more than one-third of Toyota’s domestic electric and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) sales year-to-date.

Toyota Canada utilized its “Plug In and Drive” media event, held from June 2 to 5 in Québec City, to showcase its expanding zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) portfolio and confirm its core pricing structure for 2026.

The host province continues to anchor the OEM’s green transition, accounting for more than one-third of Toyota’s domestic electric and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) sales year-to-date.

The operational shift impacts both dealer inventory planning and commercial fleet allocation, as hybrid and pure-electric models now represent 64% of Toyota’s total Canadian retail volume. By the close of the calendar year, the catalog will feature 21 electrified options, including four dedicated battery-electric (BEV) platforms.

Key 2026 Configurations and MSRP Framework:

  • 2026 Toyota C-HR (BEV): An all-new entry-level subcompact electric crossover entering the market at a starting MSRP of $44,900, delivering up to 496 km of driving range.

  • 2026 Toyota bZ (BEV): The updated compact electric SUV gains 50% more power and a 25% range extension (up to 486 km), starting at $45,990. An outdoor-oriented bZ Woodland edition (3,500 lbs towing capacity) joins at $59,900.

  • 2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid: Integrates a 6th-generation PHEV powertrain, extending pure electric range by 30% up to 89 km. Four trims debut starting at $48,750, including a performance-tuned GR SPORT variant.

  • 2026 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid Nightshade: Introduces Darkened cosmetic accents, 72 km of electric range, and a fuel rating of 4.5 L/100 km, starting at $40,050.

The event also previewed the 2027 Toyota Highlander, the brand’s first-ever three-row electric SUV and its first mass-market BEV platform to be manufactured in North America. Targeting a driving range of up to 511 km, the three-row asset is scheduled to arrive at Canadian dealerships later this year.
