Mitchell Makes ADAS Diagnostics Available

At their AAPEX booth, digital diagnostics solutions provider Mitchell was talking about diagnosing and calibrating components for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Renowned for its electronic diagnostics platform, Mitchell also offers a simple and effective approach to ADAS system diagnosis and upgrading.

“Aftermarket workshops need to realize the importance of handing over vehicles with fully operational safety equipment to their customers,” explains Kendra DeWitt, Communications Manager for Mitchell. With the Mitchell Diagnostics platform, accessible via digital tablet, they can familiarize themselves with these processes and gradually integrate them into their operations. For them, working on ADAS systems is a cost-effective operation.”

She explains that a workshop can be introduced to these calibrations by performing the dynamic calibrations first.

These calibrations of the various sensors integrated in a growing number of cars are carried out on the road, while the technician’s companion follows the steps indicated by the analyzer.

“Static calibration requires workshop space, which is not always easy,” says DeWitt. But if the shop can provide the necessary space, it should implement it.”

The diagnostic platform linked to the digital tool also generates comprehensive reports.

In this way, both the vehicle owner and the insurer can find out about pre-collision damage and the work required to restore the ADAS system.

Mitchell also introduced TruckMax, a digital estimating platform for medium and heavy commercial vehicles.
