FinishMaster Launches 2021 HoodMaster Challenge

 In 2020, FinishMaster launched its first HoodMaster Challenge, with the intent to inspire automotive painters to showcase their talents via an industry wide competition.

Due to its popularity, the HoodMaster Challenge has returned for 2021. 

With $20,000 U.S. worth of prizes up for grabs, the competition will see contestants pit their airbrush hood designs in front of a panel of industry expert judges who will award each entry based on:

• Creativity/originality (40%)
• Professional quality/technique (40%)
• Design, composition and colour tones (20%)

The competition kicked off on April 23 and the first 200 contestants receive a 27-inch mini hood from FinishMaster as a foundation for their artistic inspiration.

All participants are required to ship their hoods to FinishMaster, 115 W. Washington Street in Indianapolis, IN 46204 by August 13, with crowd voting beginning the same day.

Official judging begins on October 15 with the winners announced on or by October 19.
