On June 20, 2024, the Association des Spécialistes de Pneu et Mécanique du Québec (ASPMQ) held its Annual General Meeting, marked by an important event: the change of presidency. After leading the Association since 2021, Marc-André Boisvert handed over the reins to Guillaume Martin. Here are the words from the outgoing and incoming presidents:

“Having served since 2018 and taken on the presidency in 2021, right in the midst of the pandemic, I was proud to see from the beginning of my term the scope and effectiveness of the actions taken by our Association as we served as your communication channel with government authorities. Throughout my term, I was called upon to intervene on several occasions, notably to request a reinterpretation of the new specific tire fee rates to facilitate workshop management, recommend changes to joint decrees to protect the interests of workshop owners, participate in a reform on studded tires in Quebec, oversee the law on parts and tires purchased elsewhere but installed in-store, and many other initiatives. I sincerely believe that an association like ours has a place in our ever-changing field. Let’s support each other to achieve greater representation.

“As someone who loves taking on new challenges, it is now time for me to pass the torch to ensure the viability of my new projects! I would like to thank all the board members and especially the executive committee for their remarkable work and support throughout my term. I will remain present next year to support and ensure a smooth transition to your new president, Guillaume Martin, who I am sure will do an outstanding job.

Message from Guillaume Martin:

“I am honoured to have been elected as the new president of the Association des Spécialistes de Pneu et Mécanique du Québec (ASPMQ). My name is Guillaume Martin, and I have had the privilege of working in this field for 18 years, gaining extensive experience and an unwavering passion for our industry.

“ASPMQ has always been dedicated to the interests of its members, and it is with pride that I take over the presidency of the Association. For my term, my goal and vision are focused on our members. I believe that networking and training are of paramount importance for us to advance as entrepreneurs, and I intend to redouble efforts to offer more in these areas. I firmly believe that one of the most important roles of our association is to bring together people from diverse backgrounds so they can share their challenges and successes, thereby strengthening our industry.

“Moreover, we are already setting up several projects to offer more training focused on workshop owners, who are often left to manage their businesses on their own. In conclusion, I want to emphasize that the priority of an organization like ours is the success of its members, and I am convinced that together, we can build a stronger organization.
