Hankook Tire recently announced that that it will be providing its touring all-season Kinergy GT tire as the original equipment for the 2020 Ford Explorer.
The size 255/65R18 [Pattern H436] of the Kinergy GT tire will be fitted onto the SUV vehicle.
Hankook explains in a release that the tire’s low rolling profile and tread design is well-suited to complement Ford’s 3.0-liter V6 EcoBoost gas engine and 10-speed transmission and aid in improving the SUV’s fuel mileage rating. For enhanced grip in both wet and snowy driving conditions, the tire is equipped with a “state-of-the-art” four channel design which works in conjunction with the tire’s optimized lateral groove and chamfer sipe arrangement. The core of the Kinergy Tire’s structure of high grip silica compounds is present underneath the tread. The tire is designed to deliver a smooth and comfortable on and off-road experience with its multi-layered carcass which is made up of equilibrium carcass lines, as well as its jointless and supplemental reinforcement belts.
“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Ford, a brand synonymous with adventure and durability,” said Hyunjun Cho, Head of OE Division. “The Kinergy GT provides drivers of the new 2020 Ford Explorer with outstanding performance in all weather conditions. We’re proud to continue to support Ford vehicles with quality tires for their vehicles.”
Hankook notes that the Ford Explorer allows drivers to shift between Normal, Slippery, Trail, Deep Snow/Sand, Sport, Tow/Haul and Eco modes, which can be traversed easily with the Kinergy GT tire.
Hankook Tire also provides its tires for the Ford Ford F-150 and all-new Ford Ranger, marking its commitment towards expanding its operations in the American market.
