Martins Industries recently announced that it has added new features to its tire and wheel lifter, Power Lifter.

The equipment’s earlier version was released in the market three years ago and had been designed for easy lifting of passenger vehicle wheels. The latest version has a greater load capacity, increased from 50 kg (110 lb) to 85 kg (187 lb), and is therefore now capable of lifting SUV and pickup truck wheels.

Martins Industries has added the following features to help minimize the risk of workplace injury and increase the efficiency of tire installation technicians:

  • The equipment contains a safety strap to hold wheels in place.
  • Its three automatic lift speeds enable technicians to lift tires and wheels in less than 13 seconds as opposed to a single, slow speed on the earlier model.
  • Technicians can also keep their tools within reach with the newly added hardware tray and impact wrench holder.

“Our goal was to improve our product’s load capacity and equip it with new features while reducing the price…and we did it!” says Jean-François Laberge, Managing Director at Martins Industries.

According to the company, the Power Lifter has been created to help technicians install tires on a passenger vehicle, SUV and light truck without injuring their back, neck or shoulders. The machine does all the lifting with the touch of a button. The equipment contains an ergonomic handle and pivoting casters that help with easy handling and moving it around.

Additionally, the Power Lifter has two 12-volt rechargeable batteries and a charger. Technicians can perform 500 tire changes with a single charge of the long-lasting battery.

In a release by the company, Martins Industries states that the product can help prevent work accidents, especially since technicians have to bend over an average 28 times for changing four tires. Also, the company adds that it helps everyone win by reducing the costs related to accidents and injuries, missed workdays and having to train new employees, etc.
