Nexen Tire’s ROADIAN MTX has won the ‘2018 Good Design Award’ in the transportation category.

The ROADIAN MTX tire has received this recognition for its designs of the Machine and Beast dual sidewalls. Its versatile on-and-off road design provides customers the freedom to choose designs that match their preference and vehicle type. The Machine has a traditional profile. The Beast on the other hand features a more aggressive look due to the presence of sidewall traction bars.

The ROADIAN MTX tire has been designed to provide durability and comfort with its patented noise cancelling technology. It is able to reduce tire noise by avoiding repetitive tread block contact. The MTX’s three layers of sidewall protection promises good stability and durability when hauling heavy roads.

“The Good Design Award recognizes Nexen Tire’s excellent design capabilities in the global market,” states Kyungwoo Cheon, Vice President of Nexen Tire’s R&D centre. “We will continue our research and development efforts to enhance product performance, adding more value to our products with innovative designs.”

The Good Design Award performs a comprehensive evaluation of various products from several global corporations in 25 different categories, such as transportation, electronics, computer, furniture and architecture, among others. The award is given by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in association with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies.
