CWB Group transformed approximately 12,000 square feet of its Milton headquarters into the CWB Centre of Innovation.
The Ontario government has partnered with the CWB Group (Canadian Welding Bureau) to launch a new training hub in Milton, supported by a $1,461,814 investment through the province’s Skills Development Fund.
CWB Group transformed approximately 12,000 square feet of its Milton headquarters into the CWB Centre of Innovation. The facility houses a welding shop with 15 booths, a specialized electric vehicle (EV) training area, classrooms, testing facilities, and virtual/augmented reality training simulators.
Over the next five years, the facility is projected to train up to 5,740 additional students in hands-on and theoretical welding, inspection, safety, and emerging transport technologies.
“We designed the CWB Centre of Innovation to ensure welding and joining professionals have the skills needed to meet current and future industry demands,” said David Collie, Interim President and CEO of CWB Group. “It is a place to advance learning and ensure Ontario’s skilled trades remain competitive.”
For Canadian collision repair facilities, automotive manufacturers, and industrial fleet maintenance operations, the new facility represents an expanded pipeline for certified structural repair and EV-certified technical talent.
