A key feature in software update 7.3 is expanded diagnostic access for Mercedes-Benz models equipped with Certificate Based Automotive Security (CeBAS).
Bosch Diagnostics has released software updates 7.3 and 7.4 for its Bosch ADS X series scan tools. The updates introduce expanded vehicle coverage for 2026 model-year vehicles, advanced ADAS calibrations, and workflow enhancements for independent repair technicians.
A key feature in software update 7.3 is expanded diagnostic access for Mercedes-Benz models equipped with Certificate Based Automotive Security (CeBAS). Technicians can now complete Seed & Key (S&K) authentication through MBA unlock, bypassing the need for a separate AutoAuth subscription for Mercedes vehicles. Update 7.4 adds visual progress indicators for active scan tool communications, along with user interface refinements.
Across both releases, Bosch has introduced more than 10,700 new special tests and over 2,000 system applications to its diagnostic database.
“Today’s vehicles continue to evolve with increasingly sophisticated systems, making it critical for technicians to have diagnostic tools that evolve alongside them,” said James Latham, Product Specialist at Bosch Mobility Aftermarket. “With software updates 7.3 and 7.4, we’re expanding coverage for the latest vehicles while delivering workflow enhancements that help technicians complete repairs more efficiently.”
For Canadian shop owners and automotive service technicians operating ADS X scan tools with active subscriptions, the software updates are delivered automatically to maintain diagnostic capabilities across modern OEM security gateways.
