Braking systems specialist Akebono Brake has released six new premium brake pad part numbers, widening its established EURO and Severe Duty aftermarket product segments across North America.
The catalog expansion delivers immediate parts coverage for severe-service commercial fleets, premium European imports, and heavy battery-electric vehicles (EVs).
Core Application Breakdown:
-
EURO Ultra-Premium Ceramic Lines: Engineered to reduce noise, vibration, and harshness while mitigating brake dust. New fitments include MINI Cooper and Cooper Clubman (EUR1801B); Jaguar E-Pace, F-Pace, XE, XF, and Land Rover models (EUR1838B); and late-model BMW passenger and luxury X-Series platforms, including the high-torque BMW i4 and iX electric series (EUR1850C and EUR2060).
-
Severe Duty Fleet Formulations: Calibrated for heavy thermal cycling and demanding multi-stop vocational profiles. Part number SDF2250A services Chevrolet Silverado HD, GMC Sierra HD, and high-curb-weight GMC Hummer EV Pickup and SUV chassis. Concurrently, part number SDF2280B secures coverage for high-volume Ford Transit 150, 250, 350, and 350 HD commercial delivery fleets.
“Akebono continues to invest in expanding coverage where our customers need it most,” stated Kirby Pruitt, Product Development Manager for Akebono Brake Corporation.
To streamline installation times, the individual kits come standard with premium stainless-steel abutment hardware.
Additionally, the new heavy-duty GM truck configuration (SDF2250A) includes an integrated electronic wear sensor. This application launch provides the high-durability, OE-matched friction solutions required to minimize maintenance cycles on critical regional transport assets.
