September 10th dawned sunny and pleasantly cool for the Alberta AIA Division golf event—formerly known as the Rick Gibson Memorial. It was held at Alberta Springs Golf Resort in Red Deer and 75 golfers turned out for this annual event.
As every year, there was also a tribute to Rick Gibson, former President of the Alberta Division of AIA Canada, who was very involved in the automotive service and repair industry. He passed away some years ago, but he lives on in the Rick Gibson Memorial Trophy which is presented to the winning team each year.
The golf day also raises funds for charity and education. This year’s funds will be allocated to AIA’s High Five for Kids; SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) and NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology). Well done, everyone!
A great day for golf, a charity and education institutes.
