Stacey Lintern, CEO, Muscular Dystrophy Canada and Debra Chiabai, Chair, Board of Directors MDC sent this note of thanks to Shad’s R&R and they wanted all their supporters to see what was written.
The 49th annual Shad’s R&R Golf Tournament was a tremendous success, and thanks to your incredible efforts since 1973, $5.7 million has been raised to support life-changing neuromuscular disorder research. Your ongoing support has significantly influenced the current momentum in neuromuscular research. This is a transformative time for research and clinical advancements. Over the last decade, there has been a remarkable 700% increase in available treatments and a 260% increase in clinical trials for neuromuscular disorders in Canada.
We can’t stop now! Research momentum is at its peak, and now is the time to push these advancements further. Time is muscle, and your continued support is essential to maintaining this progress.
As the leader in funding neuromuscular disorder research, Muscular Dystrophy Canada understands the importance of providing our community with timely and accurate information, while also advancing treatments, therapies, and potential cures. Shad’s R&R participants and supporters ensure that Canadians living with neuromuscular disorders and their families can rely on Muscular Dystrophy Canada to invest in the most promising research and share findings and advancements with the community clearly and effectively.
Throughout this report, you will see the impact of your $179,775 contribution in 2023 on the Canadian neuromuscular community and how Muscular Dystrophy Canada leverages research to broaden our impact and support even more Canadians affected by neuromuscular disorders.
Thank you for helping thousands of Canadians now and for giving hope to future generations. Please mark your calendar for Thursday, June 12, 2025 for the 50th Shad’s R&R event and pledge your support for this most worthwhile charity to help fellow Canadians.
