We are very sorry to inform you of the passing of two of our industry’s esteemed stalwarts.
Doug Williams, Founder and President of the highly successful sales agency National Sales Inc. which he founded in 1998, passed away surrounded by his family on January 2nd. We knew him as a very respected person in the aftermarket and a great family man. He is survived by his wife Marlene, son Sean, daughter Katie Herbert, Steve McKirdy, Barbara Ann McKirdy and Michael McKirdy. Doug was also a loving grandfather to Isobel, Gavin, Gabriel, Isabella, and Jaxton. He will also be missed by his brother Joe and sister Hazel.
Visitation and funeral will be held at Pleasant View Funeral Home, located at 2000 Merrittville Hwy., Thorold, Ont. Visitation is Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m., and Monday, January 8, from 12-1 p.m. The funeral will take place Monday, January 8 at 1 p.m. followed by a reception.
Lynn Helpard, the Founder and Publisher of World of Wheels and Canadian Auto World amongst other publications, passed away peacefully at his home on December 28th—a very well-regarded person in our industry. He is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter Melanie, sister Elsbeth and many nieces and nephews. Information on his celebration of life is forthcoming.
