Groupe Velan Media, which includes the job board Auto-Jobs.ca, among its portfolio of brands, has acquired the assets of Rousseau Communication, including Autosphere magazine and its digital counterpart Autosphere.ca.

Auto-Jobs and Autosphere are both well-known brands within the Canadian automotive sector and to bring them both under the same umbrella represents a logical step in their evolution. The acquisition of Rousseau further consolidates Groupe Velan Media’s position as a leader both within the Quebec and Canadian automotive markets.

“The acquisition of Autosphere is the next logical step in Groupe Velan Media’s continued development,” stated Isabelle Courteau, former head of Rousseau Communication. “Auto-Jobs and Autosphere are well known throughout the automotive industry. The two brands complement each other and are a natural fit.”

An essential auto industry duo

Prior to the acquisition, both Auto-Jobs and Autosphere were recognized as established leaders in their respective fields.

Auto-Jobs, launched in 2005, revolutionized traditional automotive sector newspaper- and radio-based recruitment advertisement models, thanks to its specialized web platform which connects workers and employers directly. Auto-Jobs was an immediate success and today, nearly 20 years later, remains the reference search engine for employers and candidates in the automotive sector, with the largest community of professionals in Quebec.

Over the years, Auto-Jobs has also added numerous options to its initial offering, including copywriting, marketing and personalized recruiting services provided by automotive industry experts.

A leader in automotive B2B content

Autosphere has been published in magazine form since 1995 and online since 1997. Today, this specialized, Canada-wide publication and platform covers five industry sectors, making it the undisputed Canadian reference resource for B2B automotive industry content.

Autosphere features content specifically targeting dealers and fleet managers, as well as tire, collision and mechanical shops with daily articles on the Web and in print (12 issues/yr., in both English & French with 50,000+ copies). Autosphere’s editorial team is made up of a core group of experienced journalists, as well as over 60 professional columnists and Canadian auto industry players.

“Auto-Jobs’ undisputed expertise in employment recruitment and Autosphere‘s impressive Canada-wide network of contacts are a perfect fit and are sure to drive the Group’s growth,” said Isabelle Courteau.

“With this acquisition, Groupe Velan Media consolidates its position as a publisher in the automotive industry. By combining Autosphere‘s content with Auto-Jobs’ job listings, we’ll be able to better serve industry advertisers, employers, readers, and candidates,” added Groupe Velan Media CEO René Lewandowski.
