Chair Keith Gordon has announced that Slapshots for a Cause is back on the ice for 2022!
The event will take place May 26th at the CAA Centre in Mississauga (formerly the Powerade Centre). “We are really looking forward to the 2022 game in support of a great cause and having a fantastic industry event.”
This will be the 31st fun-filled hockey event that sees two fifty-minute games—and of course, everyone is a winner—there are no losers in these contests! Your participation and the Sponsor Program this year will raise the money needed to support the Canadian-Ukraine Foundation. “To date, Slapshots for a Cause has raised $115,000 for charity and this year we hope to roll over $125,000—so come out and help us get this done,” states Gordon.
The participating teams will battle for the Koval Cup, in memory of Lube Koval, who was a long-time supporter of the event. In addition, ice rental has been generously donated by Jan Koval for the last twelve years—a great saving for the Cause!
You have ample time to get in shape, the skates sharpened and the sticks taped. The Board of ‘Slapshots for a Cause’ hope that you will take part and help raise needed donations for the Canadian-Ukraine Foundation—a very humane undertaking.
All are welcome to play—male and female— and remember, you don’t have to take part in the game to support the cause!
