On Thursday, April 8 and Saturday, April 10, the Automotive Aftermarket Retailers of Ontario (AARO) is running an Ozone Depletion Certification (ODP) with automotive technical trainer Mark Lemay.
Sessions will be conducted on April 8 at 1.00 pm ET and April 10 at 9.00 am ET.
This environmental awareness training program, based on Environment Canada’s Code of Practice for Elimination of Fluorocarbon Emissions in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems, deals with environmentally correct equipment design, proper handling of refrigerants and will prepare participants for compliance with Federal and Provincial Regulations covering refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
The webinar will cover specific topics including:
- Science of ozone depletion
- Leak detection methods
- Systems charging procedures
- Special maintenance provisions
- Refrigerant recovery, reuse, recycle and reclamation equipment
Following the webinar, attendees will have 90 minutes to write the final exam.

Those who require the ODP/ODS Certification for the purchasing and/or handling of refrigerants throughout Canada, to fulfil provincial and federal regulations.
This certification is NOT a trade licence or trade qualification.
