Audi has introduced a native Spotify application built directly into its Android Automotive OS infotainment system in partnership with software company Cariad. The standalone integration allows drivers to access full streaming functionality, including music videos and live lyrics, directly from the vehicle’s center display without requiring phone pairing.
For Canadian automobile dealerships, sales specialists, and commercial fleet managers, embedded software applications streamline the customer delivery experience and reduce connectivity troubleshooting calls. According to the automaker, safety controls automatically restrict video playback and detailed scrolling on the primary MMI screen while the vehicle is in motion, while maintaining passenger screen accessibility and voice command functionality via “Hey Audi” or Spotify DJ.
Available through the Audi Application Store, the app debuts across 2026 model year vehicles on Premium Platform Electric (PPE) and Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architectures, including the A6 e-tron, Q6 e-tron, A5, Q5, and A6. Centralizing third-party digital services supports dealership efforts to monetize and promote connected vehicle ecosystems.
