Geely Auto’s planned 2027 Canadian debut signals heightened market competition and new franchise opportunities for regional automotive dealer groups.

Global OEM Geely Auto has formally initiated its corporate entry into Canada, establishing a local management team headed by Managing Director Bryan Wu. The parent company plans to build out a nationwide sales and service infrastructure ahead of its first vehicle deliveries to Canadian buyers scheduled for 2027.

For Canadian dealer networks and aftermarket service providers, Geely’s arrival creates new franchise alignment opportunities centered on electrified powertrains and advanced vehicle platforms. The automaker plans to partner with established local retail operators to build its dealership footprint and service operations. Backed by global sales exceeding 3.02 million units in 2025—including nearly 1.69 million electrified vehicles—the brand brings substantial manufacturing scale and proprietary platform technology to North America.

The entry of a major international OEM is set to shift competitive dynamics among mass-market brands while requiring collision centers and parts distributors to prepare for new supply chain pipelines and warranty support frameworks.
