Driven by high consumer demand for compact utility vehicles, Hyundai and Genesis post record August volume figures across their Canadian retail network.
Hyundai Auto Canada posted a record-breaking August performance, delivering 12,934 vehicles across its Canadian dealership network. The Tucson compact SUV led brand volume by setting a new August benchmark with 4,265 units sold, followed by the Kona (2,822 combined ICE and EV sales) and the Elantra (2,140 units).
For dealership principals and automotive analysts, the results reflect sustained demand for multi-powertrain SUV lineups spanning gas, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery-electric options. Steve Flamand, President and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada, credited retailer network execution and broad product positioning for the volume growth.
Concurrently, Genesis Canada reported its highest August volume to date with 770 vehicle deliveries. Growth was anchored by the GV70, which recorded its best August performance with 526 units delivered. The luxury brand aims to carry retail momentum into the fall following the global unveiling of the Genesis GV90, its upcoming flagship electric SUV featuring a pillar-less coach door architecture.
