Electrified Models Now Account for Two-Thirds of Toyota Canada Volume

Led by strong demand for the Canadian-built RAV4 hybrid and bZ Woodland, electrified powertrains accounted for 64.3 percent of total group sales.

Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) recorded a record August performance across its electrified lineup, delivering 14,461 hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery-electric vehicles, up 35.6 percent year-over-year. Electrified volume drove total TCI sales to 22,473 vehicles for the month, representing a 2.9 percent overall gain compared to August 2025.

For dealership managers and automotive analysts, the monthly figures underscore shifting consumer preferences toward hybrid and EV inventory. The Toyota division recorded 19,698 unit sales (+1.8 percent), with electrified models representing 65.2 percent of brand volume. Growth was anchored by the Canadian-built 2026 RAV4 Hybrid, which achieved a fourth consecutive record month, up 69.8 percent year-to-date.

Concurrently, Lexus Canada delivered a record August with 2,775 vehicle sales (+10.9 percent), featuring a 58.2 percent electrified sales share. Brand volume was boosted by the NX 450h+ (+173.4 percent) and RX 450h+ (+21.5 percent) plug-in hybrids, alongside August delivery benchmarks for the Tacoma Hybrid, Sienna, Crown Signia, and bZ Woodland EV.
