Nissan’s spectacular e-POWER technology is set to make its début

Operating in Colombia from Bogotá to the Caribbean coast, a Nissan Qashqai equipped with the next-generation e-POWER system traveled 1,980 kilometers on a single tank of gas.
Nissan has set an official Guinness World Records title for the longest journey completed by an extended-range electric SUV without external charging or refueling.
Operating in Colombia from Bogotá to the Caribbean coast, a Nissan Qashqai equipped with the next-generation e-POWER system traveled 1,980 kilometers on a single tank of gas.
Nissan’s e-POWER architecture differs from traditional parallel hybrids by using an electric motor to exclusively drive the wheels, delivering instant torque response and smooth acceleration. The onboard gasoline engine functions strictly as an electricity generator to charge the compact battery pack when needed, requiring no plug-in charging infrastructure.
The record-setting run provides momentum for Nissan’s North American electrification pipeline. Nissan Canada confirmed that the e-POWER powertrain will make its commercial debut in the Canadian market in late 2026 aboard the all-new 2027 Nissan Rogue hybrid.
For Canadian fleet operators, auto retailers, and drivers seeking reduced fuel consumption without range anxiety or charging downtime, the entry of e-POWER on the high-volume Rogue platform marks a significant expansion in Nissan’s Canadian vehicle portfolio.
