Mitsubishi Motors Sales of Canada (MMSCAN) has released official charging and technical details for the 2027 Mitsubishi Eclipse Sportback, an all-new battery electric vehicle (BEV) scheduled to launch across Canadian dealerships in early fall 2026.

Sourced from Alliance partner Nissan Motor Co. and built upon the next-generation Nissan LEAF platform, the sporty subcompact crossover is equipped with a standard 75 kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery pack. Engineered to support multiple charging protocols, all 2027 Eclipse Sportback trims feature native North American Charging Standard (NACS) compatibility for direct access to public Supercharger networks. 

Operating at peak DC fast-charging speeds up to 150 kW, Level 3 charging restores the battery from a 10% to 85% state-of-charge in approximately 35 minutes. A secondary J1772 inlet is included to accommodate Level 1 and Level 2 AC home or workplace charging setups.

Visually, the Eclipse Sportback EV features brand-specific front and rear fascias, unique LED lighting signatures, bold alloy wheel designs, and signature Triple Diamond badging to distinguish it within the subcompact utility segment.

The entry of the Eclipse Sportback represents a core milestone within Mitsubishi’s Momentum 2030 corporate strategy, which focuses on lineup electrification, retail sales modernization, and dealer network alignment across North America. 

Mitsubishi Canada confirmed that the electric crossover will be followed in early 2027 by an all-new off-road derivative of the Outlander SUV.
