Following the announcement of its Tundra pickup updates, Toyota Canada has confirmed matching model-year enhancements for the 2027 Sequoia full-size SUV. The updated three-row family vehicle receives restyled front-end architecture, upgraded infotainment hardware, and the first-ever Sequoia Trailhunter off-road package. 

Designed by Toyota Motor North America’s CALTY Design Research center, the 2027 Sequoia features a restyled front fascia with a broader grille, re-engineered lower bumper contours, and integrated rectangular fog lamps. Exterior lighting option upgrades include a brighter grille-mounted LED light bar and available RIGID fog lamps paired with heavy-duty front recovery hooks. 

The primary expansion to the Sequoia lineup is the inclusion of the Trailhunter package. Built on the SR5 trim level, Trailhunter delivers a factory-built overlanding configuration at a lower price point than top-tier performance grades. Off-road hardware additions feature an Old Man Emu suspension package, steel underbody skid plates, front recovery hooks, a electronic locking rear differential, Multi-Terrain Select drive modes, and Crawl Control. The Trailhunter is visually identified by 18-inch bronze-finished wheels wrapped in Michelin LTX Trail tires. 

Inside the cabin, all 2027 Sequoia models now feature a standard 14-inch touchscreen running the latest Toyota Audio Multimedia interface. The system integrates 5G connectivity, an enhanced “Hey Toyota” voice assistant, a standard built-in Drive Recorder dash camera, and expanded Digital Key functionality compatible with native iOS and Android wallet apps via NFC. Powered exclusively by the i-FORCE MAX twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrain, the SUV retains its available 2.4-kW power inverter. Safety upgrades are anchored by the standard installation of Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 across all trim levels.
