Originally scheduled strictly for static display inside the event's Supercar Paddock, the camouflage-clad LFA Concept was added to the official high-speed hillclimb running order.

Marking a major milestone in the development of its future halo performance vehicle, Lexus executed the first public dynamic demonstration of the all-electric Lexus LFA Concept at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex, England.

Originally scheduled strictly for static display inside the event’s Supercar Paddock, the camouflage-clad LFA Concept was added to the official high-speed hillclimb running order. The electric supercar shared the track with GAZOO Racing’s GR GT and GR GT3 development prototypes, demonstrating Toyota Motor Corporation’s multi-pathway powertrain strategy—a platform approach spanning road and track hybrid architectures through to ultra-high-performance battery-electric (BEV) systems.

High-Speed Validation Track Testing

Throughout the four-day event (July 9–12, 2026), driving duties were shared among elite development and competition drivers. The roster included Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team driver Elfyn Evans, Toyota Racing Vice President Kazuki Nakajima, lead GR/LFA development driver Hiroaki Ishiura, Super GT champions Sho Tsuboi and Yuichi Nakayama, and Nürburgring specialist Uwe Kleen.

Engineering Focus on Aerodynamics and Driver Engagement

Engineered to succeed the iconic V10-powered LFA supercar introduced 17 years ago, the BEV concept serves as a rolling laboratory for next-generation electric chassis dynamics, active aerodynamics, and driver feedback systems.

“The Lexus LFA Concept aims to deliver a multisensory experience unique to Lexus and redefine what a 100% electric sports car can be,” stated Yukihiro Yukita, Project General Manager. “Our goal above all is to pair raw electric performance with an emotional dimension that creates an immersive driving connection and a lasting resonance.”

For retail dealership networks and brand enthusiasts, the unannounced Goodwood track runs signal that Lexus’ flagship electric performance architecture has advanced from early design concepts into track-testing and dynamic calibration stages.
