Hyundai Canada’s performance was led by the TUCSON with 4,489 units, followed by the ELANTRA at 2,775 units, and the KONA at 2,393 units sold.

Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. set a new company record in May, with both the Hyundai and Genesis brands in Canada achieving all-time record sales highs. Combined sales reached 16,004 units, up 1 per cent year-over-year, underscoring the strength of its diverse lineup and continued appeal among Canadian consumers.

Hyundai Canada’s performance was led by the TUCSON with 4,489 units, followed by the ELANTRA at 2,775 units, and the KONA at 2,393 units sold. Three key models recorded new sales records for the month of May, led by the TUCSON, the VENUE (1,650 units), and the PALISADE (1,145 units). This new all-time record was driven by strong customer demand and creative retail initiatives implemented across the dealer network.

“Weekend promotions like the Hyundai Sunday Sales Event and Hyundai Fun Days, which offered exclusive promotions in our central and western zones, were key drivers for this record performance,” said Steve Flamand, president and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada. “Coupled with our versatile lineup, we continue to meet the evolving needs of Canadians nationwide.”

Genesis Canada also marked a historic achievement, setting an all-time sales record with 870 units sold. This represents the strongest single-month performance in the luxury brand’s Canadian history. Genesis Canada’s milestone record was led by the GV70 with 563 units sold and the GV80 with 201 units. The brand’s continued growth highlights its rising appeal in Canada’s luxury market, where Genesis is increasingly recognized as a preferred choice among buyers in this segment.

“Genesis’ distinctive guest-first experience and concierge services, combined with the performance, build quality, and driving dynamics of its models, continue to be key drivers of the brand’s strong position in the luxury segment,” added Flamand. “We are incredibly proud of this new record and will continue to elevate the ownership experience both inside and outside the vehicle.”

Building on this momentum, Genesis Canada’s performance reflects continued growth, reaching 12 per cent year-to-date, further solidifying the brand’s position in Canada’s luxury market.
