HGreg is relaunching its “Buy a car, plant a Tree” campaign for the ninth year running, in partnership with Tree Canada. For one month, the company will plant a tree for every car sold throughout the HGreg network.

Last year, 2,072 trees were planted as part of this initiative, bringing the total number of trees planted in Quebec to over 8,500 since the program began. For this latest campaign, trees were planted in Pointe-au-Père, in the Rimouski region. Larch trees were chosen for the protected peat bogs with a view to preserving carbon-rich soils and preventing the degradation of this fragile ecosystem.

“This initiative has become a tradition at HGreg as well as a reminder that every action counts when it comes to preserving our planet,” stated Harry Kasparian, Vice-President of Marketing at HGreg. As a company, we want to show that economic growth can go hand in hand with environmental responsibility.”

To further increase the impact of this year’s campaign, trees will also be given directly to customers who wish to plant one at home.
