The 2025 Toyota Tacoma mid-size pickup truck is powerful, capable, connected, and offered in twelve distinctive model and grade packages built around a choice of gasoline or hybrid powertrains, the Tacoma is equally at home on the streets or overlanding across rugged terrain.

Three powertrains

• Two Tacoma pickups are fitted with a 2.4L four-cylinder turbocharged gas engine mated to a six-speed manual and on-demand four-wheel-drive generates 270 peak horsepower and up to 310 lb-ft of torque.
• Six other Tacoma pickups pair the same 2.4L four-cylinder turbocharged gas engine with an eight-speed automatic with tow/haul mode and on-demand four-wheel-drive. In this configuration, the powertrain produces up to 278 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque.
• For truly impressive, adventure-launching performance, the Tacoma Hybrid i-FORCE MAX features a hybrid powertrain built around the 2.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. These models—three with on-demand four-wheel-drive, and a fourth with full-time four-wheel-drive—deliver 326 system horsepower and an impressive 465 lb-ft of torque. This translates into an equally impressive towing capability of up to 5,950 pounds.

Tacoma’s midsized truck’s interior conveys capability and comfort in equal measure, with a double cab design that provides space for up to five adults.

Every Tacoma is a technology showcase, starting with the Toyota Multimedia system—a bundle of smart connectivity technologies that keep drivers informed and safe while simplifying their lives behind the wheel. It integrates wirelessly with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and features Toyota’s newest interface, which improves interaction between people and vehicle through sight, touch, and voice. Other technology features include touchscreen display audio systems, USB charging ports, and a multi-information display for the driver.

Impressive safety features

Each Tacoma comes with an impressive safety feature package headlined by Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 that supports driver awareness and decision-making to help reduce the potential for accidents. Other standard safety features include the Toyota Star Safety System, a backup camera, eight airbags, the Blind Spot Monitor System with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, a tire pressure monitoring system with auto location, and an anti-theft alarm system with engine immobilizer.

Canadians can choose from 12 Tacoma grades starting with five models featuring a double cab and six-foot bed: the 2025 Toyota Tacoma SR5; Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road; Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport also builds on the SR5 model, taking the Tacoma in a sportier direction; Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport + enhances the TRD Sport grade; the Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport Premium builds on the TRD Sport + grade with several enhancements. This truck features a 14-inch touchscreen for the Toyota Multimedia system, which is upgraded for 2025 with the addition of Drive Connect. 

The Tacoma lineup continues with three Tacoma grades featuring a double cab and a shorter five-foot bed: the 2025 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road 6MT; the 2025 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road Premium enhances the Off Road grade; the Tacoma TRD Sport + 6MT takes the Tacoma in a sportier styling and performance direction.
